Get your Chiron credentials
What you do, what we handle for you.
You sign in to Chiron, copy your credentials and enter them in your TaxiBuddy onboarding. TaxiBuddy handles the connection and the test messages.
What you need
Five conditions you must meet to start the application.
Sign in with eID or itsme
Your card reader and PIN, or the itsme app on your phone. Either one will do. Other methods like the Federal Token also work but are more cumbersome.
You are the legal representative
You are registered with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO) as the legal representative of the company. This is usually the managing director. Unsure? Check your KBO extract.
NACEBEL code 49.320
Your company is registered under NACEBEL code 49.320, taxi operations. If not, fix this through your accountant or mijn-onderneming.be before you proceed.
Unique email per company
The email you provide may only be linked to one company. If you run multiple taxi businesses, you need a separate address for each one.
Belgian phone number
Chiron will contact you on this number for issues or changes. A mobile number is fine.

New to Chiron? You always start with the test. TaxiBuddy sends the required test messages automatically. Once they pass, you request your production credentials. Pick below where you are right now.

Get your test credentials
chiron-acc.vlaanderen.beThe test environment lets Chiron verify that your software speaks to the database correctly. No real rides, no risk.
What you do
- Go to chiron-acc.vlaanderen.be and click Sign in
- Pick a sign-in method. eID or itsme are the easiest
- Fill in your email and phone number, then click Register
- Skip the optional 'Public key' field, we don't need it
- On the next screen you'll see your Client ID and Secret. Click Copy to clipboard
- Enter those credentials in your TaxiBuddy onboarding
From here we take over for step 2. Nothing more for you to do until we get the green light.

The test runs automatically
TaxiBuddy sends the ten required test messages (five departures and five arrivals) to the Chiron test environment and shows you the result straight away.
What we do
- You enter your test credentials and start the test
- TaxiBuddy sends the ten required messages in the correct format
- You see straight away whether every message was processed correctly
- If something goes wrong, you simply start the test again
Your to-do: nothing. We'll send you a message as soon as step 3 is unlocked.
Questions about your credentials
You always start in the test environment (chiron-acc.vlaanderen.be) so we can prove the connection works without reporting real rides. You only switch to production (chiron.vlaanderen.be) once that test passes. From production onward, every ride is reported to the authority as a real ride.
Production access unlocks only after the test phase succeeds. First you enter your test credentials in TaxiBuddy, then we send the mandatory test messages. Once Chiron confirms they were processed correctly, we let you know and you register at chiron.vlaanderen.be for your production Client ID and Secret.
No. Skip that field. We work with Client ID and Secret, not JWKS. The public key only applies if you bring your own IT supplier using cryptographic keys.
In the Chiron portal, top right under your name, via the 'Your details' menu. From there you can also renew them if you suspect a leak. Update the new values in TaxiBuddy right away, otherwise the connection breaks.
No problem. Sign back in to the Chiron portal, click 'Renew credentials' and update the new values in TaxiBuddy. The old ones become invalid immediately.
You register per company. Each business gets its own Client ID, its own Secret and needs a unique email address. Walk through the TaxiBuddy onboarding once per business and enter the right credentials each time.
